But you're still gonna die
Floating down the river might seem like a lot of fun
It's certainly quite mystical, all the flirting that gets done
But while you may consider the river to be your friend
Remember it's a bitch, it's life – it'll get you in the end
It's a bugger but it's fine

Cos life is cruel and, brother, death is rotten
See how the living all waste their breath

Now I could warn you about the dangers
Those rapids and waterfalls
But this is just a nautical existential metaphor
So whether you're a sinner, a saint or in between
Free Will don't mean nothing when it's dragging you out to sea
